Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused People Business Partner to join our team on a fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover for 12 months. Supporting our FMN business unit and central support functions, this role offers the opportunity to influence both strategic and operational people agendas while partnering with a diverse range of stakeholders across our organisation.

The successful candidate will be a confident and credible HR professional who can quickly establish strong working relationships, operate autonomously and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. You will be equally comfortable managing complex employee relations matters, supporting organisational change and partnering with senior leaders to deliver people strategies that drive performance, engagement and business success.

This role would suit someone who thrives on variety, can effectively balance changing priorities and is passionate about delivering pragmatic, commercially minded people solutions that add real value.

Other key responsibilities include: 

  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, acting as a strategic partner and providing pragmatic people solutions aligned with business objectives and the wider People strategy.
  • Partner with managers to understand workforce challenges, organisational priorities and future capability needs, translating these into effective people plans.
  • Lead people initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance, talent, succession, engagement and retention.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring commercially balanced and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Coach and challenge managers to strengthen people management capability, accountability and consistency.
  • Use people data and insights to identify trends, anticipate risks and opportunities, and inform strategic workforce decisions.
  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, TUPE, organisational design, culture and DE&I programmes, while effectively managing competing priorities.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified, or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
  • Significant HR/People partnering experience, with a track record of advising and influencing senior leaders in a complex, fast-paced organisation.
  • Strong generalist experience across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, organisational design, talent, performance, engagement and retention.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations matters, with strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience leading and supporting organisational change, such as restructures, TUPE transfers and wider transformation programmes.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using people data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions and support workforce planning.
  • A confident and credible communicator, able to coach and challenge managers, manage competing priorities and operate effectively with a high degree of autonomy.

Additional Information

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary in the region of £55,000 to £60,000 per annum, plus car allowance of £4920.
