People and Development Manager

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

    Salary: £39,535 - £42,549 per annum (dependent on skills, experience and knowledge)

    Contract: Permanent

    Base: Osney Mead with hybrid working by agreement and occasional travel between sites.

     

    The People and Development Manager delivers a high-quality, proactive people service across the organisation. The role provides operational leadership and business partnering, supporting managers with expert advice while strengthening people practices, policies and organisational capability. The postholder leads agreed areas of the people plan and contributes to wider people strategies under the direction of the Head of People.

    • Working towards or qualified to CIPD Level 5, or equivalent experience.
    • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    • Understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR processes.
    • Experience within a HR generalist or Advisory role.
    • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding.
    • Experience supporting employee relations casework and advising managers.
    • Experience using and maintaining HR systems, including reporting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong written communication and attention to detail.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
    • Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
    • Resilient, proactive and solution focused.
    • Demonstrates initiative and accountability.
    • Works collaboratively across teams.
    • Supports colleagues and shares knowledge.
    • Knowledge/Understanding of our values
