Job requirements
Do you enjoy working with numbers and people?
Joining us as part of the 6-month IEFP Professional Internship Programme, you will learn from a team supporting the Consulting Office in the UK, who are responsible for the maintenance and high quality of Aptia systems to provide the most accurate information to the client, so they can make better decisions.
You will liaise daily with UK-based consultants in several UK office locations.
You will be based from our office in Lisbon, as well as from your home address.
This varied internship will provide you with an exciting opportunity to learn about the processes at Aptia, whilst allowing you to grow and develop your knowledge within a pensions setting and growing team.
You will receive full Aptia training through the support of excellent Learning and Development tools as well as training and peer mentoring.
We would expect that, subject to performance goals being met, that this role will transition to a full-time position on conclusion of the internship.
Below is an example of the responsibilities and tasks that you will have the opportunity to be involved with – always under the supervision of the mentor but with increasing autonomy during your time on the internship.
What you’ll be doing:
A variety of administration activities connected to the running of a pension scheme, including leavers, data changes, setting up benefits into payment, general policyholder enquiries and annual scheme updates
Learn how to perform pensions calculations, with the close support of your team
Learn about company processes and timescales and produce quality work within this
Be part of a team, collaborating to continuously improve processes and service to clients
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree such as engineering, maths, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
Good IT skills, comfortable working with systems and programmes such as MS Office (especially Excel)
VBA skills (preferential)
Organised with strong attention to detail and problem solving
Able to work and collaborate as part of a team
Able to understand and follow set processes
Flexibility in adapting to different environments and types of work
