Job requirements

As a result of the growth of our Portugal team, Aptia has exciting new opportunities for Pension Fund Accountants to join the Specialist Operations Team in Portugal.

In this role, you will manage the annual pension scheme accounts process from planning, preparation and peer review through to audit and completion for your own portfolio of clients.

This position will initially be on-site from our Lisbon offices, with hybrid working opportunities after the initial onboarding period.

With full training and support from the UK team, here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Efficient preparation of accurate accounting information for clients in compliance with regulations, and in accordance with agreed service level agreements

  • Preparation of ad hoc financial information as requested

  • Accountable for the standard and quality of your own work, as well as peer review work undertaken by more junior team members

  • Follow set business procedural requirements, including accurate time recording and use of standard templates and e-filing

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working in an accounting environment or financial services industry

  • Strong numerical ability and analytical skills

  • Computer literate in MS Office and accounting software

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

  • Relevant accounting qualification (or working towards) would be highly beneficial

  • Ability to follow processes and organise own daily tasks

  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
