Our Peer Support Supervisor provides peer-informed, recovery-oriented supervision and leadership to peer support staff across programs. The Supervisor uses their own lived experiences and advanced peer practice skills to:

  • Support peer staff in delivering mutual, person-driven, and non-clinical peer support
  • Educate non-peer staff and leadership on peer values and role clarity
  • Promote a culture of recovery, equity, and shared power across the organization

This role is both supervisory and systems-focused, advancing peer support as a distinct and essential discipline.


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm


What your day might look like:

  • Provide individual and group supervision to peer staff using peer-informed, reflective supervision models.
  • Support staff in maintaining role clarity and boundaries.
  • Conduct performance evaluations aligned with peer competencies.
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and retention of peer staff.
  • Address role conflict/drift, moral distress, and workplace challenges specific to peer roles.
  • Provide reflective, strength-based supervision grounded in peer values.
  • Facilitate team meetings, consultation, and shared learning spaces.
  • Promote wellness, boundaries, and sustainability of peer staff.
  • Ensure roles remain non-clinical, voluntary, and relationship centered.
  • Champion the integrity of the peer role within the organization.
  • Use national guidelines as a fidelity framework for peer services.
  • Provide training and consultation to non-peer staff, supervisors, and leadership on the concept of peer support, differences in peer and clinical roles, and the value of lived experience in recovery.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen peer support services through program development, policy improvement, quality initiatives, and opportunities for peer staff growth and leadership.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, person-centered approaches across the organization. 
  • Ensure peer staff complete documentation consistent with agency requirements and recovery oriented, person-centered language.
  • Promote collaborative documentation practices that center the individual’s voice.
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality laws and BHSN policy. 

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Lived experience of recovery.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or ability to obtain in required time frame.
  • Demonstrated experience providing peer support services and mentoring, leading, and supervising others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
