What We’re Looking For
Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for a Peer Support Specialist to join our team! The Peer Support Specialist provides peer-based support to individuals navigating care transitions, using lived experience to build trust and promote engagement in services. The role connects individuals to resources, supports participation in care, and promotes recovery, independence, and successful community integration.
On a typical day, you might:
- Provide peer-based support using lived experience to build trust and support engagement in services.
- Support outreach and engagement efforts to connect individuals to services and community resources.
- Assist individuals in navigating services and accessing available supports.
- Facilitate group activities, educational sessions, and community engagement opportunities.
- Promote self-advocacy, independence, and active participation in services.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Be a person with (1) year lived experience with a behavioral health condition and/or substance use.
- Lived Experience is defined as living in recovery with mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
- North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must reside within Trillium’s Southern Region, which includes the following counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Hoke, Lee, Moore, New Hanover, Robeson, and Scotland.
- Must be able to travel within catchment as required.

Skills Required
