Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and recovery-focused Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Walnut Cove, NC. This role provides recovery-oriented support to individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services.
The Peer Support Specialist uses lived experience to help clients build connections with community resources, develop long-term recovery supports, and remain engaged throughout the treatment process. This position works closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team and community partners to promote recovery, improve outcomes, and support clients before, during, and after treatment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide peer support services utilizing lived experience to promote client recovery and engagement.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members and community partners to support client care and recovery planning.
Assist clients in connecting with community resources, recovery supports, and ongoing services.
Maintain regular contact with referral sources as directed.
Prepare and complete concurrent reviews and communications with referral sources as assigned and applicable.
Complete timely and accurate documentation of client and collateral contacts in the medical record, as applicable.
Participate in peer record reviews and quality assurance activities.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff across all disciplines.
Keep the supervisor informed of client progress, concerns, and service needs.
Provide transportation for clients to access community-based resources and services as needed.
Participate in emergency service coverage as assigned, including after-hours support, crisis planning, hospital diversion, and commitment procedures.
Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding all company and client information.
Complete all required training designated by the company and applicable accreditation or licensing entities.

Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in a human services-related field preferred.
