 Position Summary:

The Pediatrician provides comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults in accordance with accepted medical standards and organizational policies. This role is responsible for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, promoting preventive health measures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

  Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for pediatric patients from birth through adolescence. 
  • Conduct routine wellness visits, physical examinations, and developmental screenings. 
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and injuries. 
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable laws and medical standards. 
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results. 
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and families regarding preventive care, nutrition, growth, and development.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records within the electronic health record (EHR) system. 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA and applicable healthcare standards. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review activities. 
  • Adhere to clinical protocols, policies, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, behavioral health providers, dental providers, and other interdisciplinary team members. 
  • Refer patients to specialists and coordinate continuity of care as appropriate. 
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives as assigned. 
  • Foster a compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered environment.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction expectations established by the organization. 
  • Support organizational goals related to access to care, quality outcomes, and community health initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.


 Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric medicine, preventive care, and clinical best practices. 
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with pediatric patients and families. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. 
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and medical documentation systems.
  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required to support business operations. 


 Education/Experience:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school required. 
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program required. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric clinical experience preferred.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida required. 
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics required. 
  • Current DEA registration required. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required. 


  Physical Demands: 
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures requiring manual dexterity. 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Works in a clinical healthcare environment with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other healthcare-related hazards.
