The Clinical Manager leads the daily operations of our Pediatric Skilled Nursing (PSN) program, ensuring high-quality care and a positive experience for children and their families. This role combines clinical leadership, staff development, program operations, and family support in a collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Pediatric Skilled Nursing program.
- Supervise, coach, and support clinical and non-licensed staff, including performance evaluations and professional development.
- Orient and train new employees, students, and volunteers while ensuring clinical skills meet program standards.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and client census to support safe and effective care.
- Oversee client intake, admissions, insurance verification, and family communication.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with clients, families, and medical providers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable DHS, DCF, Medicaid, and program regulations and requirements.
- Oversee prior authorizations, billing, documentation, and clinical record audits.
- Partner with transportation and administrative teams to ensure safe, efficient daily operations.
- Build strong relationships with families, referral sources, healthcare providers, community partners, and state agencies.
- Support policies, procedures, quality improvement, licensing, and ongoing program development.
- Identify opportunities to improve services, staff development, and client outcomes.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, employee performance, and team morale.
- Serve as the program director in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
Minimum Required Experience:
- Two (2) years of recent clinical experience in NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Home health care, Public Health, or other pediatric settings, with at least six months of that time specializing in caring for children and young adults with special health care needs.
- Knowledge of community-based health and social service systems, principles, and resources related to children with significant health care needs.
- Knowledge of federal, state, county, and private funding and programmatic guidelines.
Required License/Certification/Registration: Issued By Governing Body (if applicable):
- Current WI Nursing License, without limitations incompatible with duties, responsibilities, supervision, or practice setting.
- Must either be CPR certified at the start of employment or complete a CPR certification course within 90 days of employment. Must maintain active CPR certification through periodic renewal as dictated by the certification.

Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:
Physical Requirements: On occasion, the person must be able to move, transport, position, push/pull, and/ or lift objects or equipment weighing at least 50 pounds at a distance of 450 feet. The person must also safely push a person in a wheelchair on a level floor or a wheelchair ramp in various weather conditions. The person must also be able to transfer a person from a wheelchair to the toilet, chair, or van seat/car with the use of a gait belt and/or manual or power Hoyer lift.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
Working Conditions: Ability to successfully deal with change and potentially stressful situations.
This position is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of consumers in normal program settings and various community settings. As such, this position must be able to observe consumer activities, detect areas of danger, distinguish when non-communicative consumers need personal care, and converse clearly with consumers and other people in the community on a frequent basis. PSN operates from 6AM to 6PM, five days per week and requires flexibility to cover the needs of the business as it evolves and changes.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum two years recent clinical experience in NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Home Health, Public Health, or other pediatric settings (including at least six months caring for children/young adults with special health care needs)
- Current Wisconsin Nursing License without limitations incompatible with duties
- CPR certification at start or completion within 90 days; maintain active CPR certification
- Knowledge of community-based health and social service systems and funding/programmatic guidelines (federal, state, county, private)
- Experience supervising, training, evaluating clinical and non-licensed staff and conducting performance reviews
- Ability to perform clinical nursing skills competently and carry out patient care planning and audits in compliance with DHS 105 and DCF 251
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
- Physical ability to lift/transfer up to 50 pounds, safely push wheelchairs, and perform patient transfers using gait belt or Hoyer lift
