Position SummaryNexus Children's Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrician to join our growing team at our Shenandoah location. This physician will provide medical care for children and adolescents in both our inpatient rehabilitation program and our True North Program, a specialized adolescent behavioral health program.
This is a unique opportunity to practice in a multidisciplinary setting caring for patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions, medically complex diagnoses, and adolescents requiring behavioral health support in a structured therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical management and daily pediatric care for inpatient rehabilitation and behavioral health patients
- Conduct admissions, evaluations, daily rounds, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with rehabilitation physicians, psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, case management, and clinical leadership
- Monitor acute and chronic medical needs, medications, nutrition, and overall patient wellness
- Support adolescents in the True North Program through coordinated medical oversight in partnership with behavioral health teams
- Respond to changes in patient condition and ensure continuity of care
- Communicate with families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge readiness
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and care conferences
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and best clinical practices
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Active Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Strong clinical judgment and compassionate bedside manner
- Experience with medically complex pediatric patients preferred
- Inpatient, rehabilitation, hospitalist, or behavioral health experience preferred

Skills Required
