PEAK Pathways Production Livestock Internship

PEAK is searching for highly ambitious and focused individuals to apply for the Production Livestock Internship(s) in Shawano, Wis. Within this program, interns will have the ability to step foot into all facets of PEAK Production but focus on research opportunities within our bull population. 

Interns will delve deeply into the bovine semen production process. This position will focus on working with elite bulls to collect and process the highest quality semen possible. The intern will work with the bulls in PEAK Production facilities, as well as have the chance to learn and perform laboratory processes to create semen products utilized on beef and dairy farm operations. 

All interns will perform individual research projects throughout the summer. In addition to this, they will have the opportunity to explore other career opportunities within PEAK and the URUS family.

Location & Duration

This position will be based at our Shawano, Wis., location. PEAK has locations in Watertown, Madison, or Shawano, Wis.; Billings, Mont.; and Calgary, Alb., Can. 

This is a 12-week experience taking place between May-August 2027.

Ideal Candidates

• Students pursuing an education within agriculture, biology, genetics or data science

• Applicants currently attend a 2-year technical college or 4-year university

• Passionate about agriculture and innovation

• Willingness to learn and experience new things

• Experience working hands-on with cattle is a bonus

Compensation & Benefits

Applicants will receive a competitive salary for their summer experience. Depending on the location of the internship, either housing or a housing stipend will be provided. 

Interns will also participate in company events such as the URUS and PEAK Intern Orientations. Based on manager discretion, interns will participate in other company events or professional conferences. They will have the chance to shadow an employee from a URUS-sister company of their interest.
