PDM Activation Lead
Description
This role is categorized as HYBRID . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM - Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.
As part of the larger Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) team, the Marketing Activation Lead is a cornerstone role in building and scaling world-class modern marketing capabilities at General Motors. This role plays the build and activate role for scaling out modern marketing technology tools, technologies, and principles that span across General Motor's brands.
In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the strategic and technical build of marketing programs at GM and influencing the tools and technology implementation of our Marketing stack. You will build out the framework, strategy and requirements to scale and optimize the campaign operations on a global level.
This role requires a self-starter, with deep expertise in the marketing technology and customer experience best practices. We are looking for a creative problem solver and collaborator who can establish vision and sell-in across a diverse and matrixed group of stakeholders. A proven track record with a deep understanding of Marketing Journeys and Campaign Operations. Ability to develop solutions and requirements for implementation teams to strengthen and scale marketing technology and the willingness to champion change.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead campaign activation tasks across AEP, AJO, Adobe Campaign, Workfront and other MarTech tools
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience with a background in marketing technology and campaign strategy.
- Expert in Email Service Operations and SMS Communications
- Expert in MarTech tools and solutions, including customer data platforms, email service providers (ESP), marketing automation, personalization engines, content / experience management, journey orchestration tools, and more
- Deep strength in ability to translate campaign requirements into target audiences for cross-channel activation
- Hands-on experience with customer-level event and attribute data for audience segmentation, targeting, and measurement
- Deep understanding of the marketing operations best practices with extensive industry knowledge of personalized marketing
- Understanding of modern marketing technology architecture and roadmap including the customer data platform (CDP), data management platform (DMP), AI / ML personalization engines, attribution approaches, identity resolution, email & text service provider (ESP / SMS), digital assess management (DAM), etc.
- Partner with GM functional teams to deliver best in class CRM/CLM operations across GM
- Ability to influence the Martech strategy and deliver closed looped marketing
- Work in deep partnership with PDM peers to craft a comprehensive PDM toolkit and flawless product operating model resulting in a well-oiled machine for the enterprise
- Responsible for translating business and marketing expectations into strategies, capabilities, and scale them across the enterprise
- Work closely with creative agency's to ensure continuity in operation
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the role
Additional Description
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience with a background in marketing strategy and marketing analytics
- Experience in tagging, data enrichment and cross-channel identity resolution.
- Direct experience working in a diverse, matrixed cross-functional teams to collaboratively define data-driven strategy, approaches, and division of labor to drive business impact
- Strong influencing skills and an ability to navigate through complex decision-making processes with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent ability to break down and communicate complex ideas into actions and present to senior level leaders
- High level of ownership, quantitative savvy, and entrepreneurship
