You lead a portfolio of projects that follow a globally harmonized process to ensure the right decisions are made at key points through the project lifecycle. Projects are aligned with our business strategy and senior stakeholder management engagement is required. Managing the portfolio of projects includes standard project processes, but also the tools used to plan, create, assess, balance and communicate execution of projects that support our global and/or regional goals and strategies.
You are responsible for ensuring that projects are successfully completed on time and on budget to ensure that benefits can be realised.
How you will contribute
You will:
  • Lead cross functional project teams to ensure the delivery of various strategic projects.
  • Drive consistency and quality in the execution of projects using the appropriate methodology and tools. This will include managing weekly project team meetings, sharing project meeting minutes and updates, and reporting on progress in various forums.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, with multiple projects executing at the same time.
  • Confirm the completion of projects and their readiness to go live.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project-level risks and escalate them to the appropriate parties as required
  • Provide project reporting and status updates using scorecards, status reports and monthly review meetings and leading stakeholder meetings.
  • Where necessary, engage with the external stakeholders including quality assurance in all phases of project delivery.
  • Support the use of processes and tool used to manage projects

What you will bring

  • Strong, proven experience in managing multiple projects
  • Proven experience in project management methodologies
  • Ability to influence and interact with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and able to drive effective discussions with project resources from tactical execution level up to steering committee members
  • Excellent project planning and proactiveness in identifying risks and mitigations and managing strict timelines
  • Strong focus on cost, schedule and quality of project delivery
  • Knowledge of relevant business processes and related technology solutions
  • Stakeholder management and ability to influence positively in decision making
  • Proven ability in building effective teams across internal and external partners
  • Strong conceptual and analytic skills - enjoys problem solving

Education / Certifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent
  • Project management certification

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel to plants or other BU offices

Work schedule:
  • Standard Business Hours
