Job Description
• Act as the on-site representative at the contract manufacturer (CM), overseeing processes for Test, PCB Assembly and Box build.
• Monitor and enforce manufacturing standards, including ESD controls, line setup, line audits and process adherence; identify and escalate risks proactively
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and mass production activities by assisting in product bring-up, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams across global locations
• Lead, advise and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (5D/8D reports) and support continuous improvement efforts at the CM site
• Collaborate closely with program manager, test engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product reliability, quality and successful ramp to production
• Provide weekly/monthly oversight, reporting issues back to the design team before reaching crisis. This might include yield monitoring, identifying production excursions, and suggesting proactive fixes.
Requirement
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in testing, PCB Assembly and box build (mechanical assembly) process, preferably in high-tech manufacturing or optoelectronic components
• Bachelor’s degree (and above) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related technical field)
• Has electrical debug, knowledge of test software best practices, and a general understanding of the individual elements and box build, and overall function of the final products.
• Has understanding of PCB Assembly process.
• Has at least a fundamental knowledge of our mechanical parts, including assembly processes and tolerancing.
• Strong knowledge of quality control tools and methodologies (SPC, 5D/8D, FMEA, root cause analysis)
• Experience working closely with contract manufacturers (CMs), including on-site support and line audits
• Solid understanding of manufacturing process controls, material handling, ESD standards, and product assembly flows
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, communicate effectively with remote engineering teams – excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Comfortable working in an intense, fast-paced environment with multiple projects and shifting priorities
