Job Summary:

The PCB Layout Manager will be responsible for leading the design, layout, and development of PCBs for various DIMMs, ASIC boards ensuring the highest quality and performance. This role will oversee a team of layout engineers and will work closely with cross-functional teams such as hardware design, signal integrity, mechanical, and manufacturing to deliver optimal PCB designs. The PCB Layout Manager is expected to manage layout projects from concept through production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of PCB layout engineers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.

• Project Management: Oversee all PCB layout activities, from project inception to delivery, ensuring on-time project completion and adherence to design specifications.

• Design Expertise: Drive PCB design strategies for various product types, including high-speed digital, RF, mixed-signal, and power electronics, ensuring optimal performance.

• Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, mechanical, signal integrity, and thermal engineers to ensure PCB designs meet system-level requirements.

• Design Tools & Software: Utilize advanced PCB design tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, etc.) and ensure the team is proficient in their use.

• Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure PCBs are designed with manufacturability and testability in mind, ensuring smooth production runs.

• Compliance: Ensure all designs meet industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., IPC, UL, CE).

• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of designs, including design notes, material selection, design files, and revisions for future reference and quality control.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in PCB design and manufacturing processes. Propose and implement improvements to internal design processes and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: BE/B.Tech Electronics Engineering, or related field.

• Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in PCB design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

• Proven experience with DIMM based high-speed, high-density PCB layouts, including multi-layer and impedance-controlled designs.

• Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, etc.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

• Experience with DFM and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with a proven ability to manage teams and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
