Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a PC Support Technician to join our Fort Leavenworth, KS.

  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The PC Support Technician will provide various computer hardware and software services to end users, ensuring the seamless operation in support of the US Army Training Management Directorate. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to user inquiries and requests and provides technical assistance on PC systems, related hardware, software, and standard applications.
  • Provides help desk information and support; determines the cause of the problem; offers temporary solutions if the problem cannot be resolved within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Services support tickets for Training Management Directorate (TMD) users.
  • Support a variety of Information Systems projects, such as new system installations for a department.
  • Installs, sets up or relocates, configures, troubleshoots, and supports PC/server hardware and software; installs and configures software upgrades; configures and performs tuning of operating systems to enhance PC performance; installs and configures network interfaces and Internet connections; diagnoses network cable and configuration problems.  
  • Installs and maintains specialized software, including performing setup functions, developing associated file structures, report formats, and input forms, ensuring file security, performing data entry to populate associated databases, and documenting procedures.
  • Coordinate support with the local Network Enterprise Center.
  • Implement and design an organization-wide set of standards for the implementation of future and existing information systems.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Associate's Degree or High School Diploma with two (2+) years of Tech School training in an Information Technology or Windows workstation systems administration related field.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
  • Experience with SharePoint-related site administration, optimization, and development.
  • Have and maintain a certificate in MS Server 2016, Server 2019, Windows 10, or Microsoft Modern Desktop.

Preferred:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
