About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Tower Lead – EMEA to drive the transformation, standardisation, and governance of payroll operations across the region. This senior role is accountable for delivering payroll operational excellence, ensuring regulatory and SOX compliance, and managing key strategic partners, including ADP and Accenture.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future payroll landscape, leading regional unification initiatives and preparing payroll operations for further integrations and transitions.
Please note - this position is based on-site in Rotterdam 4 days per week, with one day working from home.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor & Operational Governance (BAU)
- Own the operational relationship with ADP across EMEA
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, service quality, and SLA compliance
- Act as the primary escalation point for payroll-related issues
Payroll Transformation & Standardisation
- Lead EMEA payroll unification and transformation initiatives
- Drive consistent payroll processes and standards across countries
- Manage payroll integrations with Oracle and Time & Attendance systems
- Oversee pre-payroll transitions into HR GBS (Accenture)
Risk, Compliance & SOX
- Ensure all payroll processes meet SOX and regulatory requirements
- Identify, assess, and mitigate payroll-related risks
- Support internal and external audits
Key Stakeholders
- HR GBS Leadership
- Country HR teams, Divisional HRBPs, and retained payroll teams
- Finance, Internal Audit, and Compliance teams
- External partners including ADP, Accenture, and other payroll vendors
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in payroll operations and transformation within a multi-country environment
- Proven track record managing global payroll vendors (ADP experience strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, controls, and SOX requirements
- Experience delivering payroll system integrations (Oracle and Time & Attendance)
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and influencing skills
