DEPARTMENT: Finance
LOCATION: Dallas, Corporate Office
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all theater employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax laws. Prepare and submit relevant reports to government agencies as required.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including timecards, direct deposit details, tax withholding information, and other related documentation.
- Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or queries raised by employees in a timely manner.
- Manage and optimize payroll systems, recommending and implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure alignment on new hires, terminations, benefit deductions, and other pertinent changes affecting payroll.
- Assist in internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- If applicable, supervise and mentor junior payroll staff, ensuring they are trained and aligned with the theater's payroll policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll-related laws and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and efficiency.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, with a preference for those who have worked in the arts or entertainment sector.
SKILLS
- Strong proficiency in payroll software and tools.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal payroll and tax regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Candidates who are diligent, committed to accuracy, and understand the unique nuances of payroll within a theater setting are encouraged to submit their applications.
