Job Description
Location: Leicester
Hours: This is a hybrid role that requires the successful candidate to be in our Leicester HQ office 2 days per week, 9:00am – 5:15pm.

The successful candidate will be detail oriented, highly organised, and confident working in a fast paced environment. You will have a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and delivering a high quality payroll service, alongside a passion for improving systems and processes.

About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist for the UK and Ireland to join Europcar at our Leicester office. This role will take ownership of payroll operations and maintenance of our payroll systems and interfaces, internal and external reporting and payroll compliance activities across the business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing payroll activities for both UK and Ireland and will play a key role in supporting two payroll administrators, as well as the wider Compensation & Benefits function
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive payroll professional who enjoys process improvement, systems development, accurate data management and working within a fast paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Payroll Administration team on a day to day basis
Oversee monthly payroll processing activities for UK & Ireland
Ensure payroll activities are completed accurately and in line with Revenue requirements
Support payroll year-end activities including P11D reporting, PAYE Settlement and statutory year end reporting
Assist with payroll related projects, upgrades, testing, and implementations
Support the development and maintenance of the interface between our HR & Payroll systems
Work closely with the payroll system providers to manage upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution
Produce and distribute payroll and HR reports to support business requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Calculation of bonus payments
Skills & Experience Required
Strong understanding of UK payroll processes and payroll legislation
Experience working within a payroll function managing end to end payroll activities
Excellent organisational and analytical skills
Strong IT and systems capability, including the use of Excel or Google Sheets
Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
Experience supporting or coordinating payroll teams or activities
Experience using the ResourceLink payroll system
Experience using reporting tools such as Cognos or Business Objects
Experience of operating Ireland payroll
