Salary Range:     $21.55 to $41.65

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Location:             Hybrid - Pittsfield, MA, Boston, MA, Springfield, MA, Worcester, MA, or Albany, NY

 


Purpose/Objective:  

 

Assists with the payroll processing for the bank and its subsidiaries. Manages the timekeeping system to ensure accuracy and timecard compliance. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations related to payroll processing. Keeps abreast of tax laws and tax implications for all aspects of compensation. Provides back up and support to the AVP, Payroll Manager and the Human Resources team as needed.

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Assist in processing payroll for bank and subsidiaries on a bi-weekly basis via ADP Workforce Now. Serves as a fully trained back up to AVP, Payroll Manager.
  • Manages time & attendance system, eTIME; trains new managers as hired. Reviews attendance activity periodically and reports on excessive punch edits and meal break violations for further action. Ensures payroll changes are handled timely and accurately. Computes and processes manual, nonstandard, and/or correction transactions.
  • Provides technical support for the ADP Workforce Now employee portal for all employees and managers.
  • Prepares ad hoc payroll reports, including periodic government reports, related to compensation and employment verifications to ensure accurate and timely information.
    Maintains supporting documentation for audit trails, i.e., SOX, DOL and IRS requirements.
  • Provides confidential support to various areas of Human Resources. Serves as a resource in fielding routine employee questions regarding compensation, benefits, and interpretation of employment policies.
  • Stays current on payroll legislation, tax changes, and best practices to ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Accounting or payroll courses preferred 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience processing a multi-state payroll
  • General Human Resources experience
  • ADP Payroll experience a plus
  • Customer service experience

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Flawless attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; general knowledge of computer programs
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build a collaborative working relationship across departments
