Senior Payroll Specialist - APAC

 Job Description: 

Reporting to the Director, Payroll, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll for APAC region including – Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore, including salary employees and interns (students).

RESPONSIBLITIES:

· Process payroll changes – new hires, compensation, cost centre, transfers, LOAs, terminations, banking, taxation, deductions in accordance with company policies and in conjunction with HR.

· Balance competing demands and deadlines while ensuring adherence to legislation and company pay policies.

· Collaborate with employees, managers, fellow Payroll team members, HR, Finance, payroll vendor and various government agencies.

· Ensure accurate financial reporting of all pay elements in the GL.

· Ensure compliance - stay current on legislative changes and enforce as required.

· Participate in system implementations and upgrades.

· Assist with various audits – governments, SOX, etc.

· Maintain documentation for payroll processes and procedures.

· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement projects related to payroll processing and reporting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum 4 - 8 years relevant experience

· Excellent communication skills

· Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· Comfortable – and successful – working in a fast-paced, changing environment

· Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative

· Collaborative, enthusiastic, positive outlook

· Applicant should be tech-savvy. Workday and i-admin experience would be ideal.
