Primary responsibilities include assisting with the weekly payroll edit and timecard audits. Some Payroll Specialists are also responsible for mail, pay card processing, entry of payroll information from W-4s and direct deposit forms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform all functions as required for pre-edit of data to regular weekly payroll processing.
Follow-up with store managers and DC HR business partners to verify hours entered and resolve issues as they arise.
Assist Payroll Coordinator to ensure time records are accurate for payroll processing.
Selected Payroll Specialist Also Have the Following Responsibilities:
Process zero returns for direct deposit. Includes contacting team members and/or closing accounts and ensuring new information is submitted in the payroll system.
Close out direct deposit information on terminated team members.
Review address errors from BSI and send to HR Data Team to correct.
Prepare weekly deduction upload information for processing.
Sort incoming payroll department mail.
Ensure all mail gets distributed to the appropriate person/area in a timely manner.
Take requests for W-2 reprints.
Print W-2s and prepare for mail ensuring they are sent out in a timely manner.
Work with management to facilitate the pay card process as needed.
Fund pay cards by loading team member information, account numbers, and dollar amounts in the vendor site. Ensure proper validation of card and information.
Send pay stub email to the manager and other responsible parties.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
2 years clerical support experience, payroll or accounting experience is a plus
Good written and oral communication skills
