Job Description

UC Health is hiring a full time, hybrid Payroll Specialist.

The Specialist will process accurately and timely the payroll for all UC Health payroll entities in accordance with UC Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Process the bi-weekly payroll for all UC Health entities in the Oracle system:

  • Create and balance time record batches
  • Gross to Net payroll calculation for bi-weekly payrolls with a high volume of employees
  • Process payroll via automated payroll system. Able to calculate gross to net payments manually when needed
  • Review and process payroll adjustments
  • Print checks
  • Transmit positive pay file
  • Prepare ACH/direct deposit returns, stop payments, voids, 5/3 Direct exceptions, and overpayment collections
  • Audit and process garnishment interim reports

Complete Payroll Audits:

  • Audit associate local tax withholdings to ensure compliance with local tax regulations
  • Audit associate payroll tax withholding changes and obtain proper documentation for withholdings as needed

Process Time Records within API Healthcare Solutions time and attendance system (API):

  • Assist managers and associates with questions regarding API
  • Audit and validate time records
  • Monitor daily download information. Troubleshoot and correct issues with downloads

Resource to Other Areas of Payroll Processing:

  • Assist supervisor and associates in the resolution of payroll issues

Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's Degree Preferred, Payroll processing and/or Accounting courses preferred
  • Minimum Required: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience
  • Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience
