About the role: The Payroll Specialist (Senior People Operations Associate) is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees, with a strong emphasis on maintaining organized, secure, and audit-ready payroll data and employee records. This role serves as the custodian of payroll-related records, ensuring data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and time-tracking systems, and supporting internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and reporting needs.
What You'll Do:
Process end-to-end payroll for all employee classifications, ensuring accuracy of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
Calculate and process new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, garnishments, retroactive pay, and off-cycle payments.
Reconcile payroll registers and third-party payments (benefits, taxes, retirement contributions) prior to disbursement.
Ensure compliance with local wage and tax regulations.
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date employee payroll records, including compensation history, tax forms, direct deposit information, and deduction authorizations.
Own the integrity of payroll data across HRIS/payroll platforms, ensuring consistency between systems (e.g., HR, timekeeping, benefits)
Establish and follow standardized recordkeeping procedures in line with company policy and statutory retention requirements.
Manage secure storage, filing, and retrieval of payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and restricted access to sensitive employee data.
Conduct regular data audits to identify and correct discrepancies, duplicate records, or outdated information.
