Reporting to the Head of People & Development – Ireland, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across multiple jurisdictions, supporting approximately 1,800 employees globally.
The role oversees the end-to-end payroll process, working closely with external payroll providers, HR, Finance and employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately, compliantly and in line with all statutory requirements. Responsibilities include payroll administration, pension remittances, payroll reporting, query resolution and maintaining robust payroll controls and procedures.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the payroll function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and support the ongoing growth of the business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and revamp standardized payroll processes and data management.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to align processes with company policies, best practices and communicate same across the organization.
- Lead initiatives to automate repetitive tasks, integrating technology where possible to improve process efficiency.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end monthly payroll.
- Pulling and preparing various payroll reports for different jurisdictions
- Create working relationships with our external payroll providers, ensuring that any key deliverables are provided in a timely manner and any complex queries and complaints are resolved
- Reviewing monthly payroll information for each outsourced payroll provider to ensure all details are correct
- Ensuring that all payroll changes are included and are accurate each month
- Maintaining payroll processing system and records via Bamboo HR and Microsoft Excel by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and internal/external business partners and vendors
- Liaising with HR, Finance, Auditors, Pension Providers, Social Welfare, Revenue / HRMC and multiple other external partners and institutions
- Providing manual calculations and payments as and when required
- Keeping up to date with payroll-related regulatory changes that may impact the business
- Preparing the payments of pensions for employees to external pension providers
- Preparing and executing regional tax requirements- e.g. P11D medical insurance prep, IR86 Health Returns for Asia etc. as and when required
REQUIREMENTS
- Recent and relevant experience in a Senior Payroll position
- Be pro-active - with the overall efficient running of the payroll function.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of how payroll is processed end-to-end
- Excellent organisation skills with proficient knowledge of HRIS, Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Outlook
- Advanced Excel skills
- A strong attention to detail and a proven track record in a similar role
- Self-motivated and driven individual who is eager to succeed

Education:
- Third level education preferred
- Payroll Technician qualification is desirable
Skills Required

- Strong working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax compliance and pension remittances
- Proficient knowledge of HRIS and experience maintaining payroll systems (BambooHR)

- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent organisation skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience preparing payroll reports, maintaining payroll controls and resolving complex payroll queries
- Third level education
