Primary Purpose:
Works under general supervision to perform administrative payroll duties, following company policies and procedures, with good organizational skills, to ensure payroll information is current and correct, and all functions are completed in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

Verify personnel changes, update and maintain the payroll database.

Process Time and Attendance records including paid hours, shift differential, vacation, sick leave, and personal preference time.

Process all information in the payroll system as required to produce paychecks.

Input manual checks and verify data to keep payroll reporting current.

Process all phases of garnishments: answering interrogatories, sending garnishment letters along with notice of exemptions and request for hearing, and preparing garnishment checks.

Process all employment verifications.

Prepare and compile simple reports and/or complete forms of a routine nature by adhering to prescribed procedures. 

Answer inquiries which may result on searches for information of records. Refers difficult or unusual situations to the Supervisor. 

Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.

Adhere to ARUP Confidentiality Policy.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicates with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
