This is a remote position.
Focusing on operational efficiency and governance, this position plays a vital role in executing payroll business process analyses, total reward audits, and system control reviews. The role involves assessing current payroll workflows, identifying operational risks, evaluating compliance frameworks, and designing optimised future-state operating models
Operating across full payroll cycles, the position requires facilitating client training and conducting end-to-end process mapping across HR, Finance, IT, and Operations. Key objectives include evaluating access controls, validating SARS tax compliance obligations, reviewing reconciliations, and establishing clear segregation of duties
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed end-to-end mapping for monthly payroll cycles, year-end processes, third-party payments, and reconciliation variance reporting
Evaluate internal controls, segregation of duties, authorization levels, approval workflows, and access controls within Sage 300
Assess organizational alignment with SARS tax compliance obligations, internal policies, and audit frameworks
Review payroll reconciliations and perform data analysis to identify gaps impacting payroll accuracy and completeness
Perform structured risk assessments covering financial, operational compliance, employee relations, and reputational risks
Conduct resource capability mapping, analyzing current payroll roles, workload distribution, skills competencies, and capacity constraints
Deliver comprehensive client training on payroll systems, software, and updated operating procedures
Requirements
Between 5 to 10 years of experience within a payroll environment.
Proven capability to deliver formal software and process training to clients.
Experience in payroll process mapping, risk assessment, and reconciliation analysis.
Required Software Skills
Sage 300 People (Certification required)
Pastel Payroll (Certification required)
