About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Operations Specialist to join our ANZ Payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager and supporting two Payroll Officers, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the Johnson Controls group.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day payroll operational support for ANZ, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Maintain and update payroll process documentation, checklists, and calendars.
Ensure all statutory and non-statutory payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
Maintain data integrity within payroll systems and ensure compliance with country-specific requirements.
Administer payroll processes, including data collection, calculation, and entry.
Prepare summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, insurance, and non-taxable wages.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and perform reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end payroll processes.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of Single Touch Payroll / Pay Day Filing.
Manage payroll and employee master file records.
Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll queries.
Assist with payroll system migration projects and other ad-hoc tasks.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Payroll or HR Operations
Strong knowledge of interpreting Awards and EBAs
Experience with payroll systems such as Chris21, Ramco, Workday, or MS CRM Dynamics
Background in unionized environments
Payroll certification preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business, or related field
High attention to detail, strong time management, and excellent communication skills
Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
