We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our HR Services & Reward team in Burswood, WA.

This role will suit someone with solid Australian payroll experience who can manage deadlines, maintain accurate employee data and provide reliable support to employees and leaders. You will work across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls supporting both hourly and salaried employees across our Australian operations.

About the role

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, APAC, you will support the accurate and timely delivery of Australian payroll services.

Working closely with employees, managers, Finance and People teams, you will ensure payroll data, queries, reconciliations and reporting are managed accurately and professionally.

You will be responsible for:

  • Processing Australian weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time
  • Managing employee changes, benefits, deductions, leave and termination payments
  • Supporting time and attendance processes for hourly and operational employees
  • Interpreting payroll and timekeeping data in line with awards, agreements and legislation
  • Responding to payroll queries from employees, managers and supervisors
  • Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving issues promptly
  • Completing payroll reconciliations, reports, records and audit activities
  • Maintaining accurate employee and payroll information
  • Supporting practical improvements to payroll processes and data accuracy
  • Handling confidential employee information with care, discretion and integrity
About you

You are a capable payroll professional who values accuracy, consistency and dependable service. You are comfortable working with payroll systems and data, investigating discrepancies and managing competing deadlines.

You will bring:

  • At least three years’ Australian payroll experience
  • Hands-on experience processing weekly, fortnightly or monthly payrolls
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees
  • Experience using ADP, which is highly preferred
  • Experience using UKG/Kronos or another time and attendance system
  • Working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, agreements, tax, superannuation and wage compliance
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
  • High attention to detail and the judgement to question information that does not look right
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing payroll deadlines
  • A practical, service-focused approach when supporting employees and managers

Experience in manufacturing, mining, industrial services or another operational workforce environment will be highly regarded.
