Mission: Ensure the financial integrity, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency of the end-to-end payroll process for both manufacturing plants and corporate personnel. This includes the correct registration, supervision, and control of all payroll transactions, weekly and biweekly closures, special payroll events, SOX compliance, financial reconciliations, and adherence to fiscal and labor regulations applicable in Mexico.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Payroll Operations Management (Manufacturing & Corporate)
  • Lead, supervise, and control weekly (hourly), biweekly (salary), and special payroll processes, including profit sharing, bonuses, savings fund, retroactive adjustments, complementary payrolls, and off-cycle payments.
  • Validate daily timekeeping and payroll incidents in E‑Time, ensuring timely authorization by plant stakeholders.
  • Monitor overtime processes, ensuring Industrial Engineering approvals are in place prior to execution.
  • Oversee and confirm all weekly and biweekly payroll closures (Hourly & Salary).
  • Guarantee compliance with operational calendars, union agreements, corporate policies, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate the issuance, delivery, and stamping of payroll receipts, ensuring accuracy of Stellantis payroll concepts versus SAT requirements.
  1. Financial Controls, SOX Compliance & Reconciliations
  • Ensure full SOX compliance across all payroll processes and supporting documentation.
  • Approve monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations in OneStream.
  • Oversee accurate accounting of all payroll events, including provisions, settlements, bonuses, and special transactions.
  • Implement preventive and corrective controls to reduce operational risks (e.g., automated validations before closure).
  • Review and approve ART & MIS reclassification journal entries.
  • Ensure that work orders, authorizations, and supporting documents are complete to prevent cost deviations.
  1. Banking, Disbursements & Financial Movements
  • Request and manage funding for payroll disbursements.
  • Prepare and validate Banamex and BBVA layouts for payroll payments, meal assistance, and financial transactions.
  • Authorize all payroll-related payments executed through banking platforms.
  • Oversee bank account changes, card assignments (Pluxxe, meal vouchers), and financial compliance requirements.
  • Supervise INFONAVIT, FONACOT, and fiscal processes required for stamping (CFDI).
  1. Systems Integration, Data Management & Technology Coordination
  • Lead system changes, enhancements, and new functionality implementations across payroll platforms (Workday, Strada, SAP, E‑Time).
  • Resolve payroll system inconsistencies in collaboration with ICT, tax, and external providers (e.g., PAC).
  • Ensure proper data flows between timekeeping, HRIS, and payroll systems, maintaining data integrity.
  • Manage stamping (CFDI) error resolution and coordinate corrections with Tax and PAC.
  1. Cross-Functional & Plant Coordination
  • Supervise and guide payroll analysts across manufacturing plants (Saltillo & Toluca) and corporate headquarters (Santa Fe).
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to align processes and ensure consistent execution across locations.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with HR, Labor Relations, Finance, Industrial Engineering, and the Legal Department.
  • Ensure timely and validated information from Labor Relations for weekly/biweekly closures.
  • Oversee alimony deductions in alignment with legal requirements and internal policies.
  1. Continuous Improvement & Automation
  • Drive process improvement initiatives focused on standardization, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Participate in digitization and automation projects to increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to track process performance (incident errors, rejections, dispersion failures, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual interventions.
  • Responsible of New Payroll System launching (if apply) 
  1. Staff Management & Development
  • Train new hires and oversee onboarding and development of payroll analysts and interns in plants and corporate sites.
  • Provide clear operational guidance and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Evaluate team performance based on objective operational results and adherence to processes (without personal judgments).

 

Additional Corporate Responsibilities

  • Responsible of payroll accounting reconciliations, audit documentation, reports, and presentations for all management levels.
  • Coordinate actuarial study data preparation and Annual Company Declaration requirements.
  • Review and deliver reports for INEGI, internal auditors, external auditors, and fiscal authorities.
  • Manage payroll obligations related to expatriate assignments (Mexican personnel abroad).
  • Ensure proper execution of Executive Bonus disbursements according to HR and Tax instructions.
Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master degree (preference)

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in payroll operations, finance, or controllership.
  • Experience managing manufacturing payroll processes (preferred).

Technical Knowledge:

  • E‑Time
  • Payroll systems (SAP, Workday, Strada or equivalent)
