Job Description

The Corporate Human Resources department consults with North American business leaders and supports their employees by providing a full range of HR services including planning, recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, HR systems, and payroll.

The Payroll Coordinator processes bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2,500 employees. They ensure payroll is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and employees are compensated accurately and on time. Additionally, the Payroll Coordinator assists the Payroll Supervisor with completing forms associated with federal, state, and local authorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Processes bi-weekly salaried and hourly payrolls for approximately 2,500 employees across multiple states.
  • Manages employee payroll records including tracking of garnishments, general deductions, taxes, and direct deposits in addition to processing supplemental bonuses, incentives, stock plan, relocation, and sales commission payments. Checks and audits time keeping system. Creates off cycle payments. Sets up state withholding/SUI accounts as needed. Researches state tax notices.
  • Maintains post payroll processes – balancing payrolls, file loads, Credit Union funding, ME duties and quarterly duties.
  • Approves vendor invoices
  • Manages weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing with approval from Regional Human Resources and Finance teams

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Associates degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years of experience processing payroll
  • Standard accounting experience

Preferred requirements:

  • 5 years of experience processing payroll for a manufacturing company
  • Experience with ADP Enterprise payroll or Workday payroll

Additional Information

Pay Scale:

  • $33.66/hour - $43.27/hour 

Work Environment

  • Office / cubicle work space with moderate noise level
  • BlueScope embraces flexible working arrangements where possible and mutually agreed.
  • Open to candidates outside of Kansas City, MO. Location may change depending on candidate's location and nearby approved location sites.
