The Role

Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check. 

Essential Job Duties

The Payroll Communication Specialist is essential for ensuring clear and effective communication regarding Bamboo Payroll processes and policies, fostering a transparent, supportive, and efficient payroll environment. By effectively leveraging communication tools, this role ensures that our clients are well informed and confident regarding payroll matters to reduce case volume in Support, increase software adoption, and contribute to the smooth operation of Payroll Services. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate across departments.  In addition, this role will be responsible for supporting internal Customer Experience communications initiatives and process improvement. 

Now, in the day-to-day work of a Payroll Communication Specialist, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and manage communication strategies to keep clients and internal employees informed about payroll policies, procedures, compliance changes and updates
  • Create and distribute payroll-related materials such as FAQs, help guides, Pendos, and email communications
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to streamline and enhance payroll communications
  • Coordinate information to publish yearly calendar
  • Distribute information regarding processing issues or exemptions
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll communications
  • Coordinate communication with up and downstream teams for alignment
  • Stay updated on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices for compliance and effective communication
  • Collaborate with other departments and be a resource for payroll information
  • Stay updated on product releases and coordinate communication with internal and external teams
  • Support internal Customer Experience communications initiatives and process improvement

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 2-5 years of experience in a payroll communications role 
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations
  • Able to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and HR information systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in training and presenting information to diverse audiences
  • Self-starter and can handle multiple projects at once
