The Role

We have an opportunity as a Payroll Business Analyst working within our Life and Pensions IT department. This will require close liaison with our sales team, the client, our internal regulatory department and the relevant administration team. Changes will need to be carefully scoped and planned, for the Business Analyst to then oversee the work from inception, through to sign-off by both the client and the administration team.

This will require a detailed analysis of the work, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required.

  • Produce Business and Functional Requirements Specifications for agreement with all interested parties.

  • Deliver a wide range projects, working closely with developers, testers, and the relevant administration team.

  • Assist with the definition and running of tests, which might include the creation of test plans, defining acceptance criteria, and running unit, system or performance tests.

  • Deliver solutions to the relevant administration team through a formal UAT and release management process.

  • Escalate issues at the appropriate time, e.g. late delivery or change in scope.

  • Produce progress reporting and MI as defined by internal management and clients.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Good understanding of end to end Payroll process including regulatory changes.

  • Annuities and pensioner payroll knowledge is must.

  • Previous experience of working as a Business Analyst (relevant qualifications and/or training as a Business Analyst is desirable).

  • Pensions and/or financial services products knowledge.

  • Previous experience of working in a change environment is essential.

  • Knowledge of, and training in, formal software development methodologies (including using SQL) is desirable.
