Day In the Life:
  • Review payroll system to ensure union rate compliance
  • Assist with system setup requirements, including Jira Ticket creation, review and validation
  • Ensure compliance with Federal & Provincial payroll legislation and company policy
  • Process CRA Remittances
  • Process Garnishment’s
  • Process EHT Remittances
  • Process Union Payments
  • Respond to union inquiries
  • Liaison with branches on payroll related items
  • Maintain employee records as per government regulations
  • Assist with other duties as assigned 
 
What You Bring:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a payroll processing role and/or a strong understanding of fundamental payroll procedures.
  • Experience with analyzing deductions, remittances, taxes, CPP, EI is required
  • Experience with salaried, hourly union and non-union payroll is required
  • Knowledge of relevant government regulations across Canada
  • PCP or CPM designation preferred - or relevant work experience
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors preferred
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, especially excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and detail orientated
  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
