We are seeking a full-time Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join the Finance team.
Pay Rate: $67,000-72,000 DOE
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll accurately and efficiently, collaborating cross-departmentally as needed.
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salary changes, benefit updates, garnishments, taxes, and other earnings/deductions.
- Ensure accurate processing of payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and other earnings/deductions.
- Register for new state tax payroll numbers and ensure compliance with all state-specific payroll tax requirements.
- Set up state unemployment insurance (SUI) accounts and other state-specific payroll-related accounts.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Maintain accounting records such as bank reconciliations, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Prepare and maintain precise records and complete monthly journal entries and reclasses into general ledger software (Sage Intacct).
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve discrepancies, answer inquiries, and confirm payment details.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary records and documentation to auditors.
- Perform other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned.
- Comply with all Kyo company policies and procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven successful experience in processing bi-weekly payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees.
- Multi-state payroll experience required.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and best practices.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and expense management software systems. Paylocity and Ramp experience are a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including strong Excel skills and an aptitude for technology. Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
- Must be proficient with MacBook or equivalent, Google suite applications, Dropbox, MS Office Suite i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Comfortable working as part of a cross-functional team in an agile environment with quick iterations.
- Superb attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to react to day-to-day operational requirements in a professional and timely manner, prioritizing and multitasking to meet deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience working in the healthcare sector.
- Must have the ability to professionally handle confidential information.
- Experience maintaining a high volume workload in a fast pace environment
