Lead Software Engineer-Java

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Channels Technology team, you will lead the team by example with a passion to tackle complex problems and develop innovative solutions, attain a self-motivated proactive attitude, inquisitiveness, and eagerness to learn. You will rely on your strong sense of ownership to troubleshoot issues drive the delivery of the solutions under time pressure. You will apply your knowledge of traditional as well as agile software development lifecycle to mentor, train, and motivate your team, partner effectively, and plan cross dependencies across the organization. You will be working closely with other technology leads, architects, production management, business analysts and quality assurance groups.
Job responsibilities

• Mentor and manage a high-performance delivery team, providing technical direction and ensure high quality of project deliveries
• Participate in build out of new capabilities and issue troubleshooting
• Enable the team to deliver key milestones in timely fashion
• Define technical strategy and build a clear delivery roadmap
• Define, clarify and defend architecture and design decisions supporting delivery commitments
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs and solutions
• Perform comprehensive code reviews, develop and review test scenarios in collaboration with QA team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on system design concepts and proficient advanced experience
• BS/BA degree or equivalent, Computer Science major is preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Java and Spring family of frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in hands on end to end delivery of complex technical solutions
• Demonstrated experience using Oracle, Cockroach DB and Cassandra databases to deliver enterprise scale solutions
• Good understanding of web development and modern Javascript Frameworks
• Demonstrated experience delivering cloud native solutions based on Container deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of web development and modern Javascript Frameworks (ReactJS preferred)
• Demonstrated experience delivering cloud native solutions based on Container deployments (Kubernetes is preferred)
