WORK YOU’LL DO
As a Payments Systems Support / Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a key role in the configuration, operation, and support of backend payment switching platforms used in banking environments. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system stability, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and support payment switching systems in production banking environments
Perform Linux / Unix system administration tasks supporting payment platforms (primary OS)
Support Windows Server environments where required
Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively identify risks and bottlenecks
Perform log analysis, batch monitoring, and batch failure recovery
Manage Work in environments across DEV / UAT / PROD
Coordinate incident resolution with FIS L2 / L3 support teams
Support UAT activities in collaboration with trade operations and business users
Execute and support change management activities, including approvals and controlled deployments
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL‑based)
Maintain and update operational documentation, including:
Runbooks
Operational procedures
DR / BCP documentation
WHO WE´RE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for professionals with a systems engineering / infrastructure / application support background in banking, ideally with exposure to payment switching systems.
Technical & Infrastructure Skills:
Strong Experience with Linux / Unix administration (core requirement)
Working knowledge of Windows Server
Database exposure, ideally:
DB2 (preferred)
Strong SQL querying skills for analysis and troubleshooting
Understanding of performance monitoring and capacity management
Application Support Skills:
Log analysis and root‑cause investigation
Batch processing support and recovery
Environment configuration and management (DEV / UAT / PROD)
Experience coordinating with external L2 / L3 support teams (e.g. vendors)
Security, Risk & Compliance Knowledge:
Role‑based access control and segregation of duties
Experience supporting internal, external, and regulatory audits
Nice to have familiarity with SOX controls and operational risk processes
Awareness of data privacy and GDPR requirements in EU banking environments
Strong understanding of change management governance
Process & Operational Skills:
Hands‑on experience with ITIL‑based support processes:
Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Release coordination with business stakeholders
Strong documentation discipline and operational mindset
