Role Summary:

The Payments Operations Manager will build the Payments Operations function for a rapidly scaling payments product with 10+ figure payment volume. In addition to building scalable systems you’ll own daily payment operations and support strategic initiatives, including AI-driven automation and multi-partner orchestration.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily payment operations (reconciliation, settlements, exceptions).
  • Build and maintain Sigma dashboards for payment monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain payment operations playbooks.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and payment service providers to optimize the onboarding and payment journeys.
  • Support onboarding of new payment partners and payment rails.
  • Implement basic payment routing and orchestration logic.
  • Integrate third-party AI tools for operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years in payments operations (strongly preferred), fintech, or SaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with ACH; exposure to RTP and Wires preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliation, settlements, and exception handling.
  • Comfortable with data analysis in Excel, Sigma, or a similar BI tool, and experienced in data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong curiosity and track record of experimenting with AI operational tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • [Bonus] Systems/tools familiarity: Modern Treasury, Sardine, Middesk, Salesforce

Built’s salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore, it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits.
