About Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk

Operational Risk Management is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the Risk Management and Compliance organization. CCOR is responsible for the design and oversight of the CCOR program, creating and enforcing policies and standards to manage these risks across the firm, delivering independent assessment and oversight of compliance, conduct, and operational risk inherent within the firms line of business, corporate functions, and their activities. 

Based on Argentina, as the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Senior Associate for Argentina and Chile, you will have second line of defense coverage for Payments. In addition, you will assist with the ORM Country coverage for Chile. As the ORM representative, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a second line of defense function, fostering stakeholder relationships, including Business, Legal, Finance, Audit and other control functions, driving innovation, and ensuring a strong risk and control environment. 

Job responsibilities

  • Independent oversight, guidance and review across various initiatives and business processes focused on ORM for Payments across Argentina and Chile and providing assistance with ORM Country overage for Chile

  • Support regulatory reviews, audits, exams, deliverables and inquiries 

  • Conduct independent assessments of operational risks leveraging the CCOR framework

  • Understanding, assessing and providing guidance on the local regulatory requirements in Argentina and Chile that impact operational risk

  • Review CCOR policies, procedures, and bulletins to ensure alignment with local regulatory obligations and corporate requirements; further addressed by local manuals 

  • Assist in Operational Risk Appetite and Risk Identification from a second line of defense perspective

  • Provide critical and analytical thinking to challenge the status quo and propose creative solutions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the business, Legal, Audit, Finance and other control functions.

  • Responsible for horizontal risk oversight (resiliency, outsourcing, data risk) for the area of coverage

  • Demonstrated capability and curiosity in using Copilot, AI, data analytics, and workflow automation tools (LLM, Tableau, Alteryx), to enhance efficiency, generate insights, and support decision-making

  • Ability to work independently

  • Contribute to a proactive legal entity culture within 1LOD and 2LOD

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and skills.

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Finance, Business or Risk related subject 

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present concise findings in a persuasive manner (English and Spanish)

  • Experience interacting with audit and local regulators a plus

  • Working knowledge of Payments products preferred

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment

  • Experience with Risk Management, Operations, Product Management or Front Office

  • Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills with successful track record of completion

  • Team player with strong influencing skills and ability to drive change and deliver results

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment

  • Ability to learn and understand internal systems

  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel within the corporate framework
