The Payment Networks Office is at the heart of these exciting developments, redefining our relationships with key Network partners like Visa and MasterCard.
As a Business Analyst on our Strategy and Analytics team, you'll be at the forefront of driving our Card Issuing cost strategy through data-driven insights. Your work will cover a range of critical topics, including network fees and sales trends. You'll collaborate across the firm on strategic initiatives that directly impact profitability, providing you with significant networking opportunities across various functional groups and geographies.
Job responsibilities

  • Analyze consumer, merchant, network, and industry data on a monthly basis to solve problems and make actionable recommendations.
  • Validate data and identify underlying causes of discrepancies.
  • Articulate insights to senior management in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Optimize existing data environments and create new datasets.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve processes and procedures.
  • Support change management strategies within lines of business.
  • Drive an environment of risk controls and escalate issues to senior management as needed.
  • Stay abreast of current market trends and the payments industry landscape.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience in the Consumer Payments industry (Merchant Acquiring, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, or Network Operations).
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics and modeling, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Background in billing reconciliations.
  • Superior attention to detail and strong process/project management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions concisely to all staff levels, including senior management.
  • Strong personal time management skills with the ability to effectively organize tasks and motivate individuals around initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Analytical Tools/Coding (SQL, SAS, R, Hadoop).
  • Strong Access and PowerPoint skills are required.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Working knowledge of payment network fees and interchange
  • Background in Consulting, Strategy, Investment Banking, or other analytical client services roles
