Purpose of the Job
To ensure all Accounts Payable related accounts are analyzed, anomalies identified, and corrective steps taken. To provide analysis that would enable management to make effective business decisions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analysis of Payable Related Accounts
- Conduct analysis and reporting of all Accounts Payable related accounts together with identifying anomalies and taking corrective action to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Reports include (not limited to):
- Creditors with debit balances
- GRIR Reporting
- Identify GR/IR accounts for reconciliation (By Vendor Recon Accountants)
- AP Aging Reporting
- AP Control Extract
- Dashboard raw data
- Balance Sheet Assurance
Operations Activities
- Perform month-end and year-end activities for GS Payables by ensuring that the relevant activities and processes are followed, and deadlines are met in accordance with financial regulations.
- Trend analysis, root cause identification, productivity insights
Query Management
- Manage new and ongoing queries through logging and resolving queries related to Accounts Payable accounting to ensure all operational matters are in order.
Business Controls, Audit & Governance
- Manage internal and external audit requirements for Accounts Payable. Ensure adherence to business procedures, controls and policies
Requirements
Minimum
- NQF Level 7 (BCom Accounting/Finance or related)
- 5 years’ experience in an Analyst/Accounting role
Advantageous
- BCom Accounting/Finance Honours
- Experience in analyzing Accounts Payable accounts.
- Power BI
- Power query
Working Conditions
Working overtime over month-end and year-end may be required

Skills Required
- NQF Level 7 qualification, such as a BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Five years of experience in an analyst or accounting role
- BCom Accounting or Finance Honours
- Experience analyzing Accounts Payable accounts
- Power BI experience
- Power Query experience
