We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Canterbury paving team as a foreperson!

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a Foreperson in our paving team, you will see yourself responsible for leading a team and driving productivity, whilst ensuring all work is delivered safely on time, within budget and to the highest industry standard.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Planning jobs with the assistance of the supervisor, engineers & manager
  • Dealing with changes as they occur on the job and communicating this effectively to both your team, managers and the client.
  • Maintaining a pro-active approach to Health & Safety, whilst ensuring your team adhere to all policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on the importance of reporting.
  • Developing new team members to help grow a high-performance crew.
  • Setting an example to your peers and striving for excellence.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Class 2 full licence and WTR endorsements
  • A background in a variety of asphalt activities and disciplines
  • Flexibility to work away from home and on nightshift
  • Good computer skills (we operate iPads for QA & scheduling)
  • A proven record of excellent leadership and communication skills 
  • The ability to act as an honest, trustworthy and motivated leader 
  • A positive attitude and of course, a sense of humour
