Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Pathologist to join our team in Kassel, Germany. This role plays a critical part in assay development, biomarker interpretation, and clinical trial support, partnering closely with laboratory teams, project managers, and clients.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role that combines scientific expertise, diagnostic interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration to support cutting-edge oncology and immunology programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and validate new histological assays, ensuring scientific rigor and clinical relevance
- Provide expert interpretation of biomarker data across assay development initiatives
- Review, evaluate, and release test results for exploratory studies and prospective clinical trials
- Support central lab testing for sponsor-driven studies
- Ensure compliance within a GCLP-regulated environment
- Perform and interpret digital image analysis for biomarker assessment
- Document and manage results within LIMS and associated reporting tools
- Partner with laboratory teams and project managers to troubleshoot test failures and optimize workflows
- Participate in client discussions and provide scientific consultation
- Contribute to scientific presentations and internal/external knowledge sharing
- Provide subject matter expertise across oncology and immunology biomarker strategies
Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Board-certified Pathologist (German board certification preferred, but not required)
- Significant experience in predictive biomarkers, with a focus on oncology and/or immunology
- Strong expertise in histopathology techniques, including:
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF)
- FISH
- RNA in situ hybridization
- Experience with digital pathology and image analysis platforms
- Familiarity working in clinical trials and/or GCLP-regulated environments
- Excellent English communication skills; German proficiency is a plus
- Additional experience in cytology, hematopathology, or genomics is advantageous

- 100% on site in Kassel, Germany
