The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
- Managing assigned dockets and collaborating with IP docketing team
- Reviewing, processing, and filing new applications and supplemental files
- Preparing e-filings of IDSs, Supplemental ADSs (application data sheets), Declarations, Assignments, Translations of Specifications, and Preliminary Amendments
- Assisting with responses to various Office Actions
- Preparing client correspondence and various reporting letters
- Managing the billing process; collaborating with Billing Department
The successful candidate will demonstrate…
- A minimum of three years of patent prosecution experience, including partner-level practice management support
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and completion of continuing education courses, including intellectual property training programs
- Proven knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and U.S. and international Intellectual Property Law (37 C.F.R., MPEP, PCT regulations)
- Ability to effectively utilize IP docketing software (CPi) and USPTO online resources
- Proficient knowledge and usage of document management system (iManage)
- Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow and maintain an organized task schedule
- Ability to manage high volume and efficiently prioritize competing demands
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to various practice management styles of assigned legal staff
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
