About this opportunity:
Join Ericsson's intellectual property team in Linköping, Sweden, supporting research and development in mobile communications related to 6G standardization. You will work with engineers, patent professionals and paralegals across different countries, cultures and backgrounds.
The team supports inventors and helps protect innovative technology, particularly in the area of mobile radio communications in 6G standardization. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with technical experts and contribute to decisions that create value from Ericsson's inventions and patents. The team members are based both in Linköping and Stockholm.
What you will do:
- Support research and development projects by identifying, evaluating and developing inventions.
- Prepare and manage patent applications through drafting, filing, examination and grant in cooperation with colleagues, inventors and patent offices worldwide.
- Make value-based decisions about patent filing and prosecution.
- Draft and review patent claims and compare them with relevant technologies.
- Coordinate patent matters across different countries and stages of the patent process.
- Work with engineers and other intellectual property professionals to understand complex technical solutions.
- Depending on your experience and interests, contribute to patent portfolio management, disputes, licensing or other strategic projects.
- Exchange knowledge with colleagues and manage multiple tasks independently.
The skills you bring:
- A master degree in engineering, physics, computer science or a related field that provides a strong technical foundation.
- Experience with patents, such as through European patent attorney training or qualification, patent examination, patent engineering or patent portfolio management.
- Experience in telecommunications is beneficial.
- Knowledge of mobile communications, radio technology and/or 3GPP standardization work is an advantage, but it can be developed in the role.
- The ability to understand complex technical information and communicate it clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage varied tasks independently.
- A collaborative approach and an interest in learning from and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
- Experience with AI-supported patent drafting is an advantage
