Your mission and challenges:
Interdisciplinary and practice-oriented work in all areas of intellectual property (IP), in particular holistic handling of matters in the fields of patent, trademark and design law in an international market environment, with a specific focus on software, computer-implemented inventions and AI technologies
Registration and enforcement of patents in Germany and abroad as well as optimal structuring of the patent portfolio
Shaping IP clauses in contracts with cooperation partners and universities
Optimization of processes and strategies in patent management for long-term success
Preparing and conducting searches and participating in freedom-to-operate analyses
Representing the company's interests vis-à-vis external law firms, partners and third parties in matters of software and AI protection
Versatile tasks in a dynamic environment that requires creative thinking and active participation beyond pure file work
What we look forward to:
Successfully completed MINT studies, in particular electrical engineering, computer science, AI/machine learning, engineering or physics
Preferably completed training as a German Patent Attorney and/or European Patent Attorney or on the way to becoming one
Comprehensive expertise in the analysis of complex patent law issues, preferably also in other areas of intellectual property law
Knowledge of international jurisdictions is an advantage
Strong teamwork skills, assertiveness, communication and negotiation skills
Fluent in German and English

Skills Required
- Completed STEM (MINT) degree (electrical engineering, computer science, AI/machine learning, engineering, or physics)
- Training as a German Patent Attorney and/or European Patent Attorney (completed or in progress)
- Expertise in analyzing complex patent law issues across patents, trademarks and designs
- Experience handling IP for software, computer-implemented inventions and AI technologies
- Experience registering and enforcing patents in Germany and internationally and managing patent portfolios
- Experience preparing and conducting patent searches and freedom-to-operate analyses
- Knowledge of international jurisdictions
- Fluency in German and English
- Strong teamwork, communication, negotiation and assertiveness skills
- Ability to represent the company with external law firms, partners and third parties
