Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.

The role

As a As Party Chief within our Marine Site Characterisation Service line, you will be responsible for the management and supervision of multi-disciplined staff and systems to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. You will act as the focal point and liaison between Client Representatives, Project Managers and offshore teams, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. Within the role there is a requirement to be proactive, driven, and motivated and most importantly have the ability to manage and prioritise a busy but varied workload.
While offshore, you will work closely with a team of Engineers and Surveyors to ensure the project’s effectiveness. Regular communication with Client Representatives, Project Managers, and onshore teams is essential.

A typical day involves planning and supervising survey activities, preparing daily reports, and ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards and contractual requirements. You will maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, develop and maintain operational procedures and work instructions, and prepare comprehensive handover notes and project debrief reports.

Coordinating and managing project briefings, daily meetings, and safety meetings is a key part of the role. You will ensure the integrity and functionality of survey equipment, reporting any deficiencies through the appropriate channels. Additionally, you will manage the implementation of initiatives and campaigns, ensuring proactive engagement from all personnel, and supervise offshore staff to maintain a high standard of performance.

Who we’re looking for:

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and highly qualified professional with a Degree, HND, or equivalent in fields such as survey, engineering, or geoscience. If you possess equivalent vocational qualifications and experience, we want to hear from you!

With a minimum of 5 years of offshore survey experience, you will have a deep understanding of client deliverables and the processes needed to achieve them. Your background in a supervisory or senior role will be invaluable.

You should be proficient in computer use, including report writing, and adept at planning and supervising survey operations. Your ability to manage personnel and communicate effectively with both offshore and onshore teams, as well as clients, will set you apart.

We value a leader who can instill a culture of safety and quality within the offshore team. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will help you build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.

We seek a disciplined, self-motivated, and flexible team player who is ready to work flexible hours, travel as needed, and undertake offshore assignments for up to 4 weeks. Additionally, you should reside within a reasonable distance of a major UK airport.
