Kendall Auto Group is one of the largest family owned and operated dealers in the Pacific Northwest and a premier employer in Alaska. We are looking for a Partsperson to join the team. At Kendall Auto of the Kenai Peninsula in Soldotna, our parts department is a fast-paced environment serving technicians within the dealership as well as clients throughout the community by selling OEM and aftermarket parts to our clients.

The Partsperson is responsible for customer service and retail sales at our auto parts store. In this position, your responsibilities include selling parts and taking inventory of stock in storage and, if necessary, on shelves. This position is for the technician back counter with occasional fill in for the front counter.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
  • Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
  • Complete special order part request for the customer
  • Communicate with customer on parts status
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license & good driving record
  • Previous experience at any new car dealership is a plus
  • Experience with manufacture specific catalogues is preferred
  • Ability to identify the problem quickly, working in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of electronic parts catalogues
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Minimum of 1 year in parts department is a plus
  • Experience with working on PC's all day
  • Positive, friendly attitude
  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred
  • Detail-oriented, have a professional appearance and strong work ethic

Work is performed indoors, spending up to 75% of work shift using computers and phone systems. Standing and walking for up to 30% of the work shift is required to assist clients at the counter and deliver parts to technicians. Carrying and lifting 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds rarely required when moving parts.
