We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Partsperson to join our team in Weipa QLD to provide high-quality customer service while maintaining accurate inventory control and supporting workshop and field service operations. This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday opportunity.
What you’ll be doing
As a Partsperson at Hastings Deering, you will:
- Interpret and supply parts – deliver accurate parts identification and support for both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
- Handle parts movements accurately – receive, pick, pack and dispatch parts with precision to maintain smooth operational flow.
- Keep inventory on track – maintain stock accuracy through effective stock control practices and regular cycle counts.
- Process transactions correctly – manage sales orders, purchase orders and invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the service teams – provide reliable parts assistance to both workshop and field service technicians to keep jobs moving.
- Work safely and compliantly – follow all safety, quality and company procedures to maintain high operational standards.
- Maintain an organised workspace – keep the warehouse and parts area clean, tidy and well‑organised to support efficiency.

What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Experience that counts – previous experience as a Partsperson, Storeperson or Parts Interpreter within heavy equipment, automotive or industrial industries is preferred.
- Strong communicator – excellent customer service and communication skills to support positive interactions with customers and colleagues.
- Tech‑savvy and capable – good computer literacy with experience using inventory systems to keep operations running smoothly.
- Detail‑driven – high attention to detail and strong organisational skills to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Independent and collaborative – able to work effectively both on your own and as part of a team.
- Licences a plus – forklift ticket is desirable (training opportunities may be available)
