  • Define and execute client-specific growth strategies, aligned to firm-wide objectives.

  • Identify new revenue opportunities across asset classes, structures and channels.

  • Lead negotiations on commercial terms ensuring sustainable and scalable relationships

  • Position the firm as a long-term strategic partner, not solely a product provider

  • Translate client requirements into clear, actionable investment mandates co-ordinating across different internal areas including Investment teams, Product Specialists, Client Service, Operations, Legal and Compliance

  • Oversee and challenge the execution of investment mandates on behalf of the client

  • Coordinate internal resources and create partnerships across teams to ensure effective delivery of key client objectives.

  • Develop and maintain formal account plans

  • Develop a broad understanding of asset classes across the Aegon Group and connect opportunities appropriately

  • Ensure the client perspective is represented in business decision-making

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, legislative, and internal governance requirements, including SMCR and MiFID II

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and pipeline

  • Provide high-quality management information on client performance, risks, and opportunities

  • Undertake ongoing professional development to meet knowledge & competence requirements

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Significant experience in asset management distribution or client relationship management

  • Strong track record of managing and growing strategic client relationships

  • A broad understanding of investment markets and products across asset classes

  • The ability to identify, shape and clearly articulate new investment opportunities

  • Strong awareness of how operational implementation and delivery models impact investment outcomes

  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams

  • Confidence to lead where appropriate and take ownership of key initiatives

  • A track record of encouraging strategic thinking and driving forward client development approaches

  • Demonstrable experience working with investment markets and clients over the longer term

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders

Key competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and partnership mindset

  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Relationship building at senior levels

  • Resourcing and managing teams with both direct and indirect reporting.

What’s in it for you?

  • A competitive salary, depending on the experience you can bring

  • A non-contributory pension between 9%-13%

  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance

  • 27 days leave per year (plus bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.
